Why is a great positive MIND-SET so crucial to success?
A positive Mind-Set is crucial to your long term success.
It is imperative that if you want to live a great life, you must work hard on creating a great, positive, inspiring environment around you. Not only is this important in regard to the people you spend time with but actually, changing your environment starts with changing your inner Mind-Set.
It is said that we become like the 5 people we spend the most time with and when you consider how you feel after you have been around certain people in your life, you can begin to see how true this is. We all know people who make us feel drained when we are in their company, simply because they are so negative and always want to take about what is wrong in their lives and not about anything that is good or great!
If you are unhappy with your life, the first thing to do is to look around you and really see the people you are surrounded by. Ask yourself if you are happy in your work/life – whether you are employed, unemployed or self-employed. If you answer NO to this question, then you need to start to interrogate yourself to find out what it is that you are not happy with, only then can you begin to make changes to create a great life that stimulates and excites you.
Why is it important to be excited by life?
It is essential to be excited by life because we only have this one life and we should make it as exciting & stimulating as possible. We are all put on this earth for a reason, it is our responsibility to explore life to find that reason so that we can make our life meaningful, otherwise, what’s the point of being here?
Many people live their lives thinking that all we are expected to do is go to school, get a job (or several these days),retire in mediocrity for a few years & then shuffle off this mortal coil. In between, we make have a few exciting moments – getting a degree, getting married, having children etc., maybe some travel to exciting destinations but other than that?
It is crucial for our overall health to live our lives in a more holistic way and to take great care of our mental, spiritual and physical health in equal measure. There is a great deal of scientific research already available and ongoing which confirms that if one of those 3 essential systems in our bodies is out of kilter or balance, then dis-ease will show itself elsewhere. Many times we hear of people who go to the doctors with physical symptoms find out that their problem actually lies elsewhere in the body, very often in the mind, and apparently un-related. The word disease should actually be shown as dis-ease because it does in fact relate to the body being out of balance or not at ease.
Having gone through this investigative process of your mind and now you have identified that you want to make changes in your life the next question to ask yourself is: What do I do now?
Usually when this process begins, you will find that you become unusually irritable & perhaps distracted. This is a clear indication that your mind is waking up and getting excited about possible changes you are about to make.
What you need to do now is to listen to your thoughts and focus only on the positive ones, disregarding any negative thoughts that keep coming through. Negative thoughts are the result of our conditioning by society, family, friends and our peers who would prefer that you stay in the negative state which is so prevalent in life today. It’s very important that when you are asking questions of yourself, you take the first thing that pops into your mind as the answer because this is your mind engaging with you to lead you to the right answers.
While you are focusing on your positive thoughts and constantly dismissing any negative thoughts, you will become aware of a recurring theme and if you follow this train of thought, asking questions as you go, it will lead you to start thinking about what you really would prefer to do with your life. This isn’t easy but it is a very worthwhile process as it will lead you to realising your purpose. When you have finally got to this end point, you now have to begin thinking about what you are going to do in your life in order that you can begin to live your purpose and achieve that exciting, fulfilling life you deserve.
It doesn’t matter what the end result is. What matters is what you want to do about it? You now have to start stage 2 of this fascinating process and decide what your new life is going to look like. This maybe a new career or you may want to start looking to create a new business and go self-employed.
Whichever path you choose, you will need someone to help you put all the pieces of the Jigsaw Puzzle together so that you make a successful transition. This process is going to be challenging at times simply due to the pressures you will encounter from family & friends who will be concerned for your well-being and financial situation. Change is never an easy process but the end result, if it is well managed & controlled, is always so rewarding and satisfying.
